    @Jake That is why we have to encourage our local languages to develop scientifically so that we can do science and all subjects in our local languages.

    Mother tongue is important. However, our nation should not use it as a broom to sweep mastery of Basic English under the carpet. LETS follow the German model: German mother tongue and Basic English TOGETHER!!!

    Chinese teach in chinese, Indians teach in hindi, punjabi etc, Malaysian teach in Malay, the French teach in French so do Germans, Greek etc.
