  The guy went with a weapon with a premeditated intent of causing harm to the deceased,and went ahead to wound the person with same weapon which led to his subsequent death,how can this be regarded as a manslaughter case?What did they pay the attorney general for them to deliberately leave such a murderer off the hook like this?It may by all means be partisan politics affiliation.5 yrs for killing somebody whilst the hungry guy who stole plantain is serving eight yrs jail term,what a corrupt country with a corrupt no justice system.

  Read the article on the issue properly. The deceased was chasing the girl friend of the accused. A fight ensued and the deceased died. So they were fighting unintended to kill but harm each other. In the event one person died. That is manslaughter case.

  In Ghana where girls are redundant, and you don't even need to talk to get one to lay, it surprises me often that things like this could happen. You want my girl? Take, I can get 10 before nightfall.

  It is manslaughter since he did not have intention to kill. Reading from the facts, he rather had intention to cause harm with the screwdriver. 5year is however too small for a homicide

  5 years too lenient. this should not be manslaughter. perhaps, the change was internal to reduced the punishment. is that how law is supposed to work?
