I agree vividly that most public institutions that were arbitrarily named after named people of the NPP stock should be reverted. Names like Akenten Appiah Menkah University of Skills Training and Entreprenurial Development sounds one is reading sentences from a book. Even the name doesn't sound academic at all. Someone who sells "apino soap" called Appiah Menkah who was a member is the one that university was named after. It is like selling precious things very cheap in the market. Even before the university's name was changed, this very Akuffo-Addo with connivance with Prof. Afful-Broni we are all privilege to all the machinations they did by removing and existing VC through clandestine mean from office.

However, you're not wrong as an observer when you talk about 50 wives and over 400 children. He was so generous to a fault that he opened his residence to people from all walks of life majority from Northern Ghana. He lived on like that till he died at a respectable age of 93 without leaving behind any property apart from his dilapidated house! He played no role in the naming of the University after him. This is why I am pleading with you to allow his gentle soul rest in perpetual peace. Thank you.

What did that man do for Navrongo and Paga when he was once an MP such that he becomes bigger than Navrong? Is Dr. Busia bigger than Sunyani and what did he do as a Prime minister for Ghana. He only took his salary in advance for three years. Even JJ who established UDS against some students' protest in Legon (though not official), he had a world Food Programme/hunger award and gave the money to UDS to buy books for the library. When UDS appreciated his contribution towards the university and decided to honor with a doctorate (honoris causa), the wicked and vindictive thief Kufour and Mr. Gyimah (former MD of NIB), then Chairman of university council of UDS refused to allow the university confer on JJ the doctorate. It was until NDC won power that the UDS conferred on Rawlings the doctorate degree. NPP should tell which tertiary institution did they upgrade to a university save UMaT. these are bunch of crooks like their forefathers e.g. JB Danquah etc.
As for Mr. Akufo Addo, the list talk about the better. You want to rename UG after a CIA agent? Tofiakwa! It will never happen in this country. Ghana is not for NPP or the Akans/Akyems. Akufo Addo can build universities and name after himself, no one cares, but to rename institutions established or upgraded by NDC after NPP criminals will not be tolerated. After all, 10 months is just around the corner and come January 2025, this project will kick-start.

What problem will it solve if you reverse the renaming of public universities ? It will never solve unemployment, under development, economic hardships etc so why ? Ordinary Ghanaians don't care whose name is on a public university or which government built the university. This is a trivial issue and we are looking for a government who will bring the economy back on track but to reverse names of the universities. This is not what I want to hear from presidential candidate like JDM who has been in government before. Kai.
