  I have always said that the only way to eliminate monetization or bribery in the election of presidential and parliamentary candidates in Ghana is for parties to register all their genuine supporters and give them party IDs so they can vote to elect their presidential candidates and PCs every four years or before every by-elections. If about about 100,000 or 50,000 electorate are to determine who wins to become a PC it will be difficult to bribe majority of them. It three million are voting to elect a presidential candidate it will be almost impossible to bribe them. Party leaders know about the suggestion as the best option to go, but they will have none of it because they derive benefit from the status quo.
