He has relinquished his core responsibilities of taking major decisions and inspiring hope among the citizenry through well thought out public speeches. Remember, your pronouncements is a reflection of your persona and that's why silence is golden. But I don't blame him; I blame the de facto prime Minister and his "educated" clansmen who had headstart in life. With advanced age comes memory loss. What are they doing to save "The King". President Akuffo Addo was candid in his statement that he had unfortunately forgotten about Ekumfi because there's no link with him after the loss of Ato Cudjoe. So what's the crime of the President? What was Abeiku Crentsil doing in the house e Parliament in his 8 years stay in parliament? He is soo weak that even the NDC-Ekumfi delegates voted against him during their 2023 primaries. Also because of the partisanship of the Chiefs, they always present weak ndc candidates which had serious consequences for their development. Even constituencies in Volta Region receives their share of developments because they have vibrant MPs. It's time Ekumfi man presented good candidates as MPs. As for Ekumfi chiefs, they are just good for nothing. They are fighting over whose land must be acquired for agenda 111 hospital project leading to unnecessary rancour and bitterness depriving Ekumfiman. They are hypocrites. My Overlord, Nana Agyin III, I humbly submit what President Akufo-Addo said should be heard in context.
For the first time NPP had won the Ekumfi Parliamentary seat, the President came out to express his appreciation and promised to work with the MP elect to help develop the constituency. He appointed the MP as a Deputy Minister to spearhead lobbying for development projects to the constituency.
Then, at the next election, the Dep. Minister was voted out and an opposition MP voted on who could not lobby for project to the constituency.

In that context that the President said, we in Ekumfi lost out. Because with very limited resources to share and we did not have any representative at the table to lobby for us, definitely we would lose out.

Respectively, scientific research about what development projects had come to Ekumfi from the NPP government would not be no use. From 1992-2024, NPP has sat on the MP seat for only 4 years so if the constituency had been neglected, it's not because of NPP but our inability to use our voting rights to get development projects but our sticking to one party.
Ekumfi district remain the most deprived district in Central Region and probably the whole of Southern Ghana. It's a fact.

Just compare the roads named after our later father, Prof. John Evans Attach-Mills (may his soul continue to rest in peace) in Accra and Essuehyia, and you would weep for my motherland, Ekumfi. The last time I passed on the road at Essuehyia, I wept. I don't know if it has been upgraded now. But if it has, then, it must have been done by the NPP government led by President Akufo-Addo.

My Overlord, I sincerely share in your frustration about the lack of development projects in our district. So we must value our voting rights and vote for development but not just as a Block-voting group. Nana I humbly submit.

I heard the paramount chief in one of his meetings while chastising the District Chiefs Executive for ineffectiveness in see Ekumfi District Assembly come last in the league of successful assemblies in the central region. Nana Akyin VIII stated openly that his road from Essuehyia to Ebiram will be fixed if his NDC party comes to power. His partisanship played clearly in his press conference yesterday. How can Ekumfi develop with this mind set. He never appealed to the president in strongest term to tensure that all ongoing projects are completed but preferred to hang on the autopsy report of the late President Mills and his family feud. Incredible.

Let's stop talking sides. The utterances of HE Akuffo Addo of late is not good for a state man he will soon become.
He is the president of all and overseer of all developmental projects and programs in Ghana. Therefore he should be fair in distribution of these resources according to the needs of each region, city, district, town, village and Hamlet.
Such unfortunate utterances has repeated itself again and it's not good for himself, Ghana and his own party the NPP.
Even if the national cake is shared fairly, these utterances alone stated otherwise.
Such unfortunate utterances does not help his vice president and NPP in their quest to break the 8. Already the NPP has a battered image under his watch. His inability to fight corruption and the condition of the economy (though economies world wide are equally struggling) coupled with a lost fight against illegal mining, unkept promises which was too difficult yet keep promising. All these has made very difficult to sell NPP as a party to the undecided voters in Ghana.
If care is not taking Akuffo Addo will collapse the elephant party.
