Even though this man's arguments made sense, as a police officer, you don't have the liberty to make these views publicly. This is what you signed up for when you joined the police service. It's the same with the army. If he wanted to pursue this agenda, he should first have resigned from the police service. Then he could join whatever political group he wanted. Otherwise, you become an insubordinate truant in the police service.

When you find yourself in a similar situation shut up no one cares. Allow him because the last time I checked freedom of speech was or is not a crime.
