That's why some Universities, (such as UCC) teach "Law and Development" as a course in their Faculties. Infact, it is misplaced for anyone to project Law as distinctive, authoritative or sacrosanct within the context of our cosmology; -- to the extent of Maurice Ampaw's animadvertation -- of going to talk law in Manhyia. Our value system -- which embodies institutions such as; custom, tradition, religion, mores, common sense, wisdom, ethics, justice, and fairness -- serve as a synergistic pivotal axle around which the rime-tested traditional political system spins. Hence, Maurice's summons or invitation to Manhyia would be exhibiting a distinctive process within the domain or context of Ashanti traditional protocols and arrangements. It is not (necessarily) akin to the usual mainstream Court system.. This is a different ball game in which the authority, soul and spirit of Ashanti state would be at play. See! This is a different terrain and arena, where your "legal technicalities" or "legal gymnastics" would be overwhelmed by the demonstrable wisdom/intelligence from Nananom when needful. Indeed, "efie nyansa" would override the so-called " sukuu nyansa". The effusions and rhetoric of some of these Lawyers and politicians have become a social canker and should be dealt with collectively as a people who pride themselves in decency and mutual respect.
