Fight For Ghana's Oil: Exxon vs China

With Ghana needing cash yesterday (i.e. get her oil quickly to market), Exxon (with better technology experience) is the right choice. To bridge the technologu gap, China's CNOON tried unsuccessfully to acquire a US oil company but the deal was blocked by US Congress. Can Ghana really afford to depend on not-so-good CNOOC technology in deep ocean?

There would be no debate if Mobil Corp. had not left Ghana less than 10 years ago. QUESTION: Will Exxon-Mobil stick around if things get dicey in the future? Let's not forget that China could not find any oil when given rights to explore in the same area. Having been given another block to prospect around Keta area, should China not work harder to find its own well than depend on other companies' results?

FINAL QUESTION: What happens if US Pres. Obama optionally calls Pres. Attah-Mills to help Exxon-Mobil?
