Acquaah-Arhin gets Deputy Director General post

Accra, Nov 8, GNA - Mr Ekow Gaddiel Robert Acquaah-Arhin gets the post of Deputy Director-General with the Securities and Exchange Commission with effect from November 18, 2005.

The appointment was effected by the President, Mr John Agyekum Kufuor in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

According to a statement issued by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Accra on Wednesday, Mr Acqaah-Arhin was a pioneering staff of the SEC, having held the directorship of Market Surveillance and Corporate Finance and Investment Management. Before joining the Commission, he worked with the Finance and Audit Departments of the Volta River Authority.

Mr Acquaah-Arhin holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Coast and an MSC in Public Sector Economics from the University of Buckingham, United Kingdom.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK, and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. He also holds a post graduate certificate in Project Investment Appraisal and Management from the Harvard University in the United States.

Mr Acquaah-Arhin has had an extensive training in securities market regulation and development with various international organisations and capital market regulators including the Malaysia Securities Commission, Quebec Securities Commission, Canada, Financial Services Board of South Africa and the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Before his appointment, he was a member of the implementation committee of the Central Securities Depository in Ghana.
