'Coke Baron' Throws Party In Cell

Kwabena Amaning, alias Tagor, one of the suspected drug barons being held in connection with the missing cocaine saga, is living a kingly lifestyle even in police cells as he marked his birthday in a grand style.

Tagor opened a bottle of champagne to throw a colourful 33rd birthday bash in his Ministries Police Station cell last weekend, a development which is said to have caused much consternation among some top Police chiefs when word reached them about the anomaly.

At the time of filing this report, Daily Guide gathered that the high profile cell inmate had been swapped with another cocaine suspect at the Osu Police Station.

Many, including some daring policemen drank, ate and made merry from the bash in a typical ‘awoof style’, but there were others who were not comfortable with what unfolded, including the general lifestyle in the Ministries Police Station cell.

Tagor, who before his transfer to his new ‘Osu Police Station home,’ was said to have been allowed the use of his mobile phone right in his cells, and even had a whole cubicle to himself. A worried source even added that the guy was not missing much from his normal outside life. “You see what money can do,” he said.

Tagor’s kingly lifestyle was feasted upon in gossip circles in some Police barracks when word about it made the rounds. Some of the cops expressed indignation at the anomaly which they described as outrageous. The birthday bash in his Ministries Police Station cell wad described as an unprecedented event in the history of the station.

“There was an assortment of drinks because people ate and drank to their full as though nothing was at stake,” a source told D. Guide.

Another source has it that a Superior Police Officer expressed an oral query to subordinate officers when he found out that Tagor had been allowed to use a mobile phone in his cell.

Not long afterwards, the drug suspect was relocated to the Osu Police Station where he is currently on remand.

Tagor, said to be a trained pilot, having received his training in the US, is said to have a sophisticated lifestyle.

His East Legon residence, fitted with state-of-the-art electronic gadgets, has two swimming pools, one upstairs and another downstairs.

He loves paragliding, perhaps because of his passion for flying. There was even a story of how he scribbled his mobile phone number on a 100 dollar bill for a lady.
