Lawyer Kwesi Botchway Jnr, a legal practitioner associated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a warning to a state investigator, insisting that those abusing power today may face similar treatment if political power changes hands in the future.
In a Facebook update on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, Botchway detailed what he described as the harsh ordeal of the NPP's Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, who is currently in custody.
The NPP lawyer singled out the investigator handling the case, Seth Sewornu, accusing him of political bias and warning that he could face similar treatment in the future.
"Kindly know that power is transient, and if power changes, you may be treated as a politician! You did it to Sir Obama, now you're doing it to Abronye. It is just a matter of time," he cautioned.
According to him, Abronye's wife, family and lawyers have all been denied access to him since his arrest.

He further alleged that Abronye has not eaten since Monday, September 8, 2025, raising concerns about his health and safety.
“His wife, family, and lawyer have been denied access to him. Since yesterday, they have not seen him. Contrary to the court's ruling, it is believed that he is not being kept in police custody but at the NIB. Information reaching me is that he has not eaten since Monday morning. His family and lawyers are deeply concerned about his health and safety,” Botchway wrote.
Meanwhile, Kwame Baffoe Abronye has been remanded into police custody by the Accra Circuit Court.
The court denied him bail, and he is expected to reappear on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Abronye was arrested by the Ghana Police Service for what it described as "offensive conduct."
