Veteran Ghanaian sports administrator, Herbert Mensah has said that the Black Stars will face a difficult tournament at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He noted that the team has long struggled with challenges, particularly administrative issues, which have hampered their progress.
The former Asante Kotoko board chairman emphasized that despite these challenges, the players continue to strive to give their best and make an impact.
Why Carlos Queiroz picked so many new faces for Ghana’s Mexico clash
Speaking in an interview with LUV FM, Mensah predicted that, considering the Black Stars’ group opponents in the Mundial, the team will face a very tough battle.
“The Black Stars have seen this throughout history—poor administration—and yet the players themselves try their hardest to produce something special,” he told Kumasi-based LUV FM.
“I think this time it will be a little bit difficult for them. The balance of where they go in terms of the group means that anything is possible.”
Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz will lead the team to the 2026 World Cup after taking over from Otto Addo, who was sacked due to poor results.
Ghana are in Group L and will compete against England, Croatia, and Panama for a place in the knockout stages in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
