Women are judged by their failures - EC Boss

The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) Chairperson Madam Charlotte Osei has stated that majority of men historically have been failing in their various fields of work but are quick to judge women when they fail in their duties.

She questioned why men refuse to criticise their own when they perform abysmally in their line of duties but expect women not to have excuses in committing blunders.

“We don’t have the right to fail, to make mistakes or to be mediocre. Men have been failing throughout history, but they do not think that other men should be judged by the failures of one man,” she stated.

Speaking during the International Women’s Day edition on Accra-based Joy FM’s Super Morning Show hosted by the second lady Mrs Samira Bawumia, she entreated women to desist from paying attention to men’s pettiness and forge ahead.

“So they are going to throw everything at you just to get you out of that space. Once you recognise that, then you recognise those comments for the distractions that they are and you just focus on doing what you have been called to do and to do an excellent job,” Madam Charlotte advised.

The Chairperson of EC further admonished women to do away with the ‘pull her down syndrome’ and join forces together to push their common goal of impacting society and taking care of their families.

“So you know that you need to apply yourself, you need to work really hard, you need to be very diligent in what you are doing and you need to constantly add to your knowledge base and your skills,’ she urged.
