Witches Crushed

The ongoing conference of the Association of Witches in West Africa (AWWA) at Hwiawu-Besease in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti region has been disrupted, Daily Guide has gathered.

This was after Nana Subruku, a dreaded fetish at Atwima Twedie near Kumasi, had led a team of 42 fetish priests from the West African sub-region to the town on Wednesday. The fearful-looking traditional worshippers, drawn from neighboring Togo, Mali, Benin, Burkina Faso, and Cote D’Ivoire among others, stormed the town on Wednesday morning clad in their traditional outfits.

Appearing serious and ready for business, Nana Subruku led the traditional worshippers to perform assorted rituals aimed at demobilizing the witches who were busily undertaking their annual spiritual conference.

Some of the rituals performed at the well-attended occasion which was graced by the chief of the town, Nana Baffour Awuah and his elders, included the slaughtering of all kinds of animals, pounding of fresh cassava and plantain among others.

Speaking to Daily Guide after the terrifying occasion which lasted close to two hours, Nana Subruku said the ongoing witches’ conference had been cut short by the rituals.

He noted that the slaughtering of all kinds of animals and the pounding of fresh cassava and plantain were spiritually powerful to demobilize the witches from going ahead with their conference.

Nana Subruku explained that whereas the blood of the slaughtered animals had made the witches powerless, the pounded cassava and the plantain would avert any calamity on the people of the town.

He disclosed that his gods had directed him to assemble other powerful traditional worshipers from the West African sub region to perform the rituals to ensure that the witches’ conference was disrupted.

According to him, mayhem would have befallen the country and the sub region as a whole had the conference been allowed to proceed without divine interference.

“Whilst innocent people were bound to lose their lives in unbelievable road accidents this yuletide, others were to lose valuable property in mind-boggling circumstances,” Nana Subruku stressed.

The Association of Witches in West Africa (AWWA) announced their intention to hold this year’s annual conference at Hwiawu-Besease through a letter, which was leaked to the press in Kumasi on November 15.
