A past social media post by former Asante Kotoko striker Mark Adu Amofah has resurfaced following Ghana’s 1-1 draw with Wales on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, reigniting debate around criticism directed at Black Stars players after costly moments in games.

In the match, Ghana were held late on when Wales found an equaliser from a cross delivered on the left side, an area where Baba Rahman had been beaten in the build-up.

The sequence immediately triggered backlash from sections of supporters online, with the defender coming under heavy criticism.

However, attention quickly shifted to an old post from Adu Amofah, originally written during Rahman’s difficult spell with the national team in 2022.

In the message, the former striker called for patience and support for the left-back at a time when he was struggling for form and confidence.

“Why all this hatred! We need to encourage and motivate him instead. Kudos to the team; better luck next time,” he wrote at the time.

The post has now resurfaced in light of recent criticism, with fans drawing parallels between Rahman’s earlier struggles and his return to the Black Stars setup ahead of the 2026 World Cup, where he played his first match in over two years.

Rahman had previously stepped away from international duty following sustained criticism and backlash from supporters, before making his return under the current Black Stars technical setup.
