Workers urged to cherish most what they give back to Ghana

Akosombo (E/R), April 1, GNA- The former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Volta River Authority (VRA), Mr Louis Casely-Hayford has called on the workers to the Authority to cherish most, what they could give back to Ghana.

He was speaking at the inauguration of a two storey 1.93 billion cedis office complex constructed by the Hydro Credit Union at Akosombo on Saturday.

Mr Casely-Hayford expressed his appreciation of the fact the Hydro Credit Union which he initiated some 26 years ago while he was in office was still working and grown to be able to construct an office complex of such magnitude.

He expressed his displeasure and worry of the fact that, when he travel round the country, he often see some good projects which were enthusiastically initiated by his generation being left to deteriorate.

Mr Casely-Hayford however, expressed his appreciation of the fact that the Hydro Credit Union, which was said to be the most well-organized in the Eastern Region has achieved so much and said that gives him sense of hope and assurance that all was not lost.

In a speech read on behalf of the CEO of VRA, Mr Joshua Offedie, he called on the workers of the authority to use the occasion to focus on their being financially independent.

He advised workers to show greater interest in making money and creating wealth to improve upon the quality of their lives, those of their loved ones and face the future with confidence.

Mr. Offedie urged the management and members of the Hydro Credit Union to look ahead beyond the new office complex and continue to reach out for new horizons.
