MP calls on Ministry to declare stand on road project

Wiamoase (Ashanti Region), 23 April, Mr. Kwasi Akomea Kyeremateng, MP for Afigya/Sekyere East, has called on the Ministry of Roads and Transport to explain its stand on the suspension about a year ago of work on the Agona-Wiamoase road project. Speaking at the inauguration of the Wiamoase branch of the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association at the weekend, he asked the Ministry of Mines and Energy to come out with its investigation into the Bepose electrification project. Mr. Kyeremateng said the people are anxious to know the outcome and appealed to the Ministry to make the findings public, to set the people's heart at rest. The MP commended members of the association for coming together and advised the youth to guard against social vices. He appealed to the kingmakers of Wiamoase to select a new chief for the town since the absence of a chief is retarding the town's progress. Dr. Kwasi Opoku-Debrah, Co-ordinator for the Natural Resource Management and Sustainable Agriculture Planning Programme (NARMSAP) of World Vision International Ghana Rural Water Project, asked members to make use of the Komfo Anokye Rural Bank in the town to enable them get assistance.
