Where is Christ amidst Coronavirus?

Oh Lord come to our aid! Oh Lord make haste to help us.

Be not afraid!

God is in control!

It will soon be over!

As the world is struggling to find its feet on the ground in the face of coronavirus, believers are questioning the power in the name of Christ. But Christ is still powerful. Christ is Christ and his “Christness” is still present in the Eucharist. The Eucharist is Christ and will not stop effecting it’s effectiveness. The Eucharist is powerful and surpasses any other thing even above the damnation the coronavirus has brought.

Christ who is powerful, a healer and a comforter has not ceased working the wonders he performed at the wedding feast of Cana. Christ is still healing people suffering from diseases associated with blood flow and will not desert us in this hard time of struggle with coronavirus.

Christ is the Eucharist and the Eucharist is Christ. His power as God the Son is not limited so that is not manifested in the Eucharist. The Eucharist is not only a spiritual food that nourishes but also one that heals. If by touching his garment she got healed, by receiving Him in the Eucharist you will be well again. In this period of struggle, shutdowns, restricted travels, countless death every hour, resulting from this same pandemic, let all who are friends of Christ meet him at the table of the Eucharist. For in one’s reception of Christ in the Eucharist, one will heal those who long for him in the same manner by their faith.

If you believe that Christ is alive and that he is present in the Eucharist, all you need to do then is to go to him in humility, receiving him with a contrite heart and you will be healed. This is the moment for us to preach Christ to none believers. This is the moment for us to show to the world the mercy and power of Christ in the Eucharist.

In this hard time of ours, we must not give up lest we get swallowed up by this pandemic disease. Let us not live as though we have no one who cares. God cares about us. Rather let us pick up our rosaries and ceaselessly beseech Our Lady in a meditative prayer for her intercession. She is a woman who hates to see her children weep. If only we will humble ourselves and call upon her for once, she will quickly come to our aid. Mary’s voice is always unique to the ears of her Son Jesus Christ. Her voice pushes Jesus with eagerness to act and even quicker. She did it at the wedding feast at Cana when she beseeched her Son to help Lest the groom faced disgrace.

The problem posed to us from the coronavirus is not over and above Jesus. He is faithful although we are unfaithful. He is moved with pity when he sees his brethren go through miseries. If only we will go to Him with contrite hearts to receive Him in the Eucharist, He will give us rest.

This is the time Priests should frequent the ministry of communion to the sick. Lett us not Shut the doors of God against them though the world seem painful to such who have been affected with the virus.

To those brethren who believe in the “word”, let’s deepen in a more profound way our faith in it and seek healing from that.

May we in this period of suffering not be discouraged so as to forget the God we worship, how powerful he is, and how he is moved to act seeing his brethren suffer. The name of Jesus still sounds sweet in the ears of both believers and nonbelievers.

All Christians therefore must pick up their rosaries and implore the intercession of Mary our mother of mecrcy, she who is help of Christians and comforter of the afflicted to tell her Son Jesus to come to our aid. Oh Lord come to our aid! Oh Lord make haste to help us.
