Radio personality, Caroline Sampson is asking dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale to rally behind 2017 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards nominee, Stonebwoy instead of acting unperturbed about the fact that he (Shatta) received no nomination.

Stonebwoy who won the 2015 BET Best International Act: Africa earned a nomination in this year’s edition alongside Wizkid (Nigeria), Davido (Nigeria), Tekno (Nigeria), AKA (South Africa), Nasty C (South Africa), Mr Eazi (Nigeria), and Babes Wodumo (South Africa).

After the list was released, Stonebwoy expressed worry over the low visibility of Ghana in the BET Awards and called for unity among stakeholders of the music industry.

Shortly after that, some persons took to social media platforms to troll Shatta Wale for missing out on the awards again this year, resulting in a post from the self-acclaimed dancehall king.

“My B.E.C.E. certificate sef ano know where e dey. Then we deh come worry about BET. Money dey call me for my brain….” Shatta posted.

Like many, the correlation between BET Awards and Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E) is unfathomable.

Offering counsel to Shatta Wale, Caroline tweeted that the best practice is for the ‘Ayoo’ hit maker to support Stonebwoy.

“Calm down and support a brother… He is my guy but he needs to cool down on this one. I'm a radio host. Their business is mine too” she advised.

The BET Awards were established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network to celebrate African Americans and other minorities in music, acting, sports, and other fields of entertainment over the past year.

The 2017 edition of the Black Entertainment Television Awards is scheduled for the Microsoft Theatre on June 25, 2017.
