New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South Constituency, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has responded to President Mahama's statement he made last Friday during their 24th anniversary celebration that, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will not be the cause of any political violence before, during and after the elections.

President Mahama on Friday reiterated his resolve to ensure that the elections are organised peacefully devoid of any violence saying, ''...NDC shall not be responsible for any violence or any disruption of the election of November 2016.

"If there will be any violence or disruption of the election it will not come from the NDC. It will come from some other political party. I hope that all parties in this country will make a commitment that we shall play by the rules to ensure that we have a free, fair and transparent election," he added.

However, the outspoken legislator said the assurance given by President Mahama was nothing but deception.

According to him, the NDC is the only political party in Ghana with the highest record of violence and instability.

Speaking in an interview with Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, Dr. Prempeh said, it makes no sense for President Mahama to accuse other political parties of planning violence ahead of the elections.

The NPP, he noted, will campaign on issues and engage the electorates on their policies which are far better than that of the ruling incompetent NDC government.

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh stressed that President Mahama will be booted out of office without the shed of blood but, through the thumb of Ghanaians who are feeling the economic hardship under the current government.

Commenting on President Mahama's claim that "I [President Mahama], am confident that if we have a free, fair and transparent election, by the grace of God, Insha Allah NDC will emerge victorious once again;" Dr. Prempeh said, Mahama will be dreaming to make such comments since he will lose the elections hands-down, and hand over power to a Nana Addo-led administration.

"It is only under an incompetent government like President Mahama that Ghanaians have to pay less for emergency power than original power," he said.

Higher electricity tariffs, killer taxes, collapse of businesses among other difficult challenges he posited, are the order of the day. President Mahama is running a propaganda form of governance coupled with lies and deceit.

On the investment in infrastructure as touted by the NDC government, he said, that is nothing to talk about because the investment in infrastructure he insisted does not reflect the revenue generated by government.

"If you can pay your rent and your tariffs vote for Mahama. If the NHIS is working for you, vote for Mahama. If your children are benefiting from the school feeding programme, vote for John Mahama. If the better Ghana is working for you and your life have been transformed, vote for John Mahama.''

He further debunked suggestions that the NPP lack a campaign message, emphasising that, the NPP have explained to Ghanaians what policies they have and will continue to sell those policies and are sure of victory 2016.
