We will ignore Wereko-Brobbey like a plague - Ursula

Ursula Owusu, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West constituency has asked members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to ‘ignore’ Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby, a founding member of the party.

“If he feels his comments will help the party, he should go on. As for some of us, we'ill ignore him like a plague,” she said.

Hon. Owusu was commenting on recent comments of Dr Wereko-Brobby against the party. Dr Wereko-Brobby was suspended for exhibiting behaviour and making comments that, according to the party, put its name into disrepute.

Dr Wereko-Brobby made derogatory remarks through several publications about the party's decision to challenge the outcome of the 2012 presidential election at the Supreme Court.

During proceedings at the Supreme Court, he described Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as “clueless and confused,” when he (Bawumia) was being led in evidence in the witness box.

In his recent comment, he has asked Ghanaians not to believe the NPP when they talk about peace because ‘they talk peace but prepare for war’

Speaking on the ‘Kokrokoo’ Morning Show On Thursday, Ursula Owusu stated that it is better to avoid Dr. Wereko-Brobby because “If you listen to most of his comments over the period, it seems like he has an agenda”

“We should just pay deaf ears to him otherwise it will lead to insults and use of harsh words against him. As a founding father, he was supposed to unite party members and avoid bringing everything to the public domain - however, that is not what he is doing, and so it is better to avoid him,” she added.
