A video involving Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) officials and some West African nationals deported from the United States has gone viral on social media, showing security officers forcibly dragging the deportees out of a hotel.

In the tense footage circulating on X on November 11, 2025, immigration officials were seen dragging a woman on the floor out of a hotel in Ogbojo, Accra, into a waiting vehicle.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred at the VICSEM Hotel when the immigration officers attempted to relocate the deportees, who are part of an ongoing arrangement between the U.S. government and Ghana, resulting in a heated altercation among the returnees.

Details surrounding the actions of the security personnel remain unclear.

Meanwhile, the video has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with users expressing diverse opinions.

This comes after the government of Ghana signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United States to receive deported West African nationals into the country.
