The Black Stars’ goalkeepers went through an intense, focused training session as preparations continue in Cardiff ahead of the upcoming international friendly against Wales and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The session, led by goalkeepers’ coach Daniel Gaspar and assistant Fatau Dauda, was designed to sharpen the reflexes, positioning, and decision-making of the team’s shot-stoppers.
Benjamin Asare, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Joseph Anang, Solomon Agbasi and Paul Reverson were put through a series of drills that tested their handling under pressure, quick reaction saves, and command of the penalty area.
The exercise began with close-range shot-stopping routines, where the goalkeepers were forced to react rapidly to fast finishes from different angles.

This was followed by work on coming out to claim crosses, with emphasis on timing, bravery, and communication with defenders.
The final phase of the session focused on one-on-one situations and closing down attackers in tight spaces, simulating match-like scenarios.
Gaspar and Dauda closely monitored every movement, constantly giving instructions and corrections to ensure sharpness and consistency across the group.
The session formed part of a broader build-up as the Black Stars continue to fine-tune all departments of the squad ahead of their upcoming assignments.
