Thomas Partey has sparked conversation online after a light-hearted viral video appeared to hint at his availability for Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.

In the clip, the former Arsenal midfielder, now at Villarreal, is seen being teased by one of his teammates after entering what looked like a medical or testing room.

When asked jokingly why he was there, Partey responded with a subtle dig.

“They say we are going to the World Cup so we should come and do doping.”

The comment, made in a playful context, has been widely interpreted by fans as a subtle suggestion that he expects to be part of Ghana’s squad for the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Partey has been a key figure for the Black Stars in recent years, and his experience remains crucial as Ghana prepares for the global showpiece.

His possible involvement would be a major boost for the team’s midfield stability and leadership heading into the tournament.

Ghana are stepping up their build-up to the World Cup, where they have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.

The Black Stars will begin their campaign against Panama on June 17, 2026, in Toronto before facing England and Croatia in their remaining group matches.
