A social media campaign has led to a 30-year-old British-born woman reuniting with her long-lost father for the first time.

Armed with stories about her father from her mother and some scanty details, Keisha Nana Yaa Boateng arrived in Ghana in early September 2025 to find her "missing father."

Her efforts were boosted by a Good Samaritan who helped launch a social media campaign to locate him.

“I am touched by her story, and I hope that we, as Ghanaians, can come together to help her, especially those from the Ashanti region. Her mother is Jamaican, and Keisha has never met her father since she was born. According to her mother, her father was a taxi driver in Brixton. He is a Ghanaian named Edward Boateng. In the 1980s, he was stopped by police for speeding, and they later discovered he had expired papers, leading to his deportation,” said a man who identified himself as Theo Versace in a video shared by Sika Official on X on September 12, 2025.

Standing alongside Theo in the initial video, Keisha shared further details of her story.

“Hello, everyone. My name is Nana Yaa. I was born in the UK and have never met my dad. He was deported in July 1987 from a detention center called Wentworth. I would be very grateful if you could help me find him. He has a sister named Christina, though I’m unsure of her surname. She lives in the UK as well. My mother, whose name is Marcievos, is also from the UK. My dad is about 61 or 62 years, possibly born in September. I’m not certain, but I would be grateful for any information. If you have a picture or know someone who might know him, please get in touch,” she appealed.

In an update on September 23, 2025, Theo Versace announced that their search had yielded results, though not without challenges, including false claims and attempts to scam Keisha.

“I would first like to thank everyone who shared, liked, or commented to make the video go viral. As a result, hundreds of people responded. Some claimed they knew him, others said he had died, and some tried to scam her. By the grace of God, we have been able to dig deeper and find the man,” he said.

On how certain they were about the potential Edward Boateng, Theo added, “The man was able to mention Keisha’s mother’s full name, confirm where she worked before they met, mention her uncle’s name, and verify details Keisha’s mother had shared with her. Everything aligns,” he stated ahead of the reunion.

In the latest update shared by Sika Official on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Keisha and her father were seen together, with Edward Boateng stating that a DNA test, scheduled to be conducted, would confirm his paternity.

“My lost daughter is finally found. I am happy to see you. I know you’re mine. The test will be done, but I know you are mine. You look just like my mother,” Edward Boateng said.
