Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV, the Overlord of Waala Traditional Area, has appealed to the government to provide the Upper West Region with not only with new development projects but to complete those started by the previous administration.

He mentioned the Regional Hospital and the Wa High Court projects and said everything should be done to finish construction works on them.

He made the appeal in a speech read on his behalf by Dajenn Naa, Naa Seidu Bomison Junior, during a courtesy call on him at his Wa Palace, by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“I take this opportunity to appeal through you to the President to try as much as you can to complete the Wa High Court building project and the regional hospital complex which are long overdue for the benefit of the people of Upper West.”

Naa Pelpuo IV also asked that a Centre for National Culture (CNC) was built in the area to harness the rich culture of the people.

Upper West remains the only region without CNC, something that is unhelpful to the promotion of the rich culture of the area.

He expressed the readiness of the region to support any plans by government to improve and better the lives of the people.

“We acknowledge with pride, the implementation of flagship programmes by your government such as the free senior high school, planting for food and jobs and the one village one dam programme among others.”

The Paramount Chief commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for reinstating the Regional Minister, Alhaji Suleimana Alhassan.

“I thank the President on behalf of the people of Upper West for hearing our cry and bringing our Regional Minister back in office,” he added.

The Vice President was in the region to join the Muslim community to pray for national unity, peace and stability during the Ramadan, a period, which he said “Allah listens more to prayer”.

He called on Muslims to pray for the leadership of the nation and the country for greater national growth and development.
