Senior Presidential Advisor, Yaw Osafo-Maafo Senior Presidential Advisor, Yaw Osafo-Maafo

The Senior Presidential Advisor, Yaw Osafo-Maafo, has shared his views on the measures needed to alleviate the economic difficulties that have left citizens dissatisfied with the current state of the nation.

He highlighted the widespread unemployment in Ghana, which has led to frustration among many young people and graduates, posing a security risk to the country that needs to be addressed.

Addressing the national stakeholder dialogue series in Cape Coast on April 9, 2024, with the theme "Taking stock and identifying emerging issues to shape Ghana's new public sector reform strategy, 2025-2030," the senior presidential advisor called for more effective approaches to tackle the challenges faced by Ghanaians.

"We must think outside the box for solutions to the many problems facing the citizenry," he was quoted as saying by graphiconline.com.

He also stressed the importance of increased collaboration between the public and private sectors to create more job opportunities for the youth and contribute to economic growth.

"However, modest reforms in the public sector have not led to improvements in job creation and wealth maximisation," he remarked.

Osafo-Maafo emphasised the need to implement strategies to make the agricultural sector more attractive to the youth, aiming to reduce the reliance on white-collar jobs in the country.
