Certain organization take their philanthropic corporate social responsibilities seriously.

EchoHouse Ghana Limited, the 360 marketing communications company last year donated all the proceeds from Tidal Rave Friday event to the rehabilitation of a school in Bortianor, a fishing community that has played a host of Tidal Rave over the years.

In that same regard, the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) is also indicating how seriously it regards community development.

To this end, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof Okoe Amartey is leading the institution to adopt the La Nkwantanang M/A Basic School as part of the university’s community project.

Dubbed the UPSA Community Academic Project, the university will use it as a vehicle to “roll out a number of initiatives aimed at improving academic performance of pupils at La Nkwantanang cluster of schools,” a UPSA statement said.

The UPSA Community Academic Project is also under a larger philanthropic agenda set out by the university called “Investing in our Communities” initiative.
