Two suspected armed robbers are in the grips of the Suntreso District Police Command over a robbery incident that happened at Alignment, a suburb of Kwadaso Estate in the Ashanti Region.

The suspects, 22-year-old Issah Abdul and 20-year-old Abdul Rahman, allegedly attacked their victim and fled with a handbag containing a Samsung smartphone valued at GH¢2,000 and other personal belongings.

According to the police, the suspects were armed with a machete and were riding an unregistered blue motorbike during the incident. But as fate will have it, one of them accidentally dropped his Samsung mobile phone at the crime scene.



The phone was later recovered by the victim, who turned it in to the police as proof.

Investigators were able to apprehend the two suspects at Sofoline due to this clue.

Five mobile phones and GH¢1,690 were retrieved from them when a thorough search was conducted.



The suspects admitted to the crime and guided police to the location where the machete used in the attack was concealed, according to a press release by the police.

The two have been held by the authorities and are helping with ongoing investigations.
