Two killed in tipper truck accident at Senchi

Two people have been killed in a fatal road accident involving a tipper truck at Senchi in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.

According to an adomonline.com report, the tragic incident occurred on Thursday, May 28, 2026, near the Senchi market area when a tipper truck with registration number GR 2135-22 suddenly overturned under circumstances yet to be established.

The report added that a joint rescue team from the Police and Ghana National Fire Service arrived promptly at the scene and confirmed that both occupants of the truck died on the spot.

Their bodies were recovered from the wreckage and conveyed to the morgue.

The crash is said to have further caused heavy traffic congestion along the Senchi stretch for several hours before police and road safety officials cleared the scene and restored normal traffic flow.

The Eastern Regional Police Command has meanwhile launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Possible factors, such as excessive speed, mechanical failure, or driver error, are being examined, according to the report.

Efforts are currently underway to identify the deceased persons so their families can be formally notified.
