Okwawu Utd trounce Filante

A TRANSFORMED Okwawu United side put up a splendid performance to beat Togolese side, Etoile Filante, 4-1 in an international friendly match at the Accra Stadium last Saturday.

Determined to carry the day, Okwawu plunged into attack just after kick-off and piled pressure on the visitors but the attacking line of Shaibu Issah, Eric Mensah and Baffour Gyimah failed to utilise the chances that fell their way.

Okwawu broke the deadlock in the 30th minute when Eric Mensah connected home a beautiful cross from left full back Kwabena Boateng.

The tide changed in the second half and Filante found the equaliser in the 50th minute through Hosu Yaw. But the Ghanaian club side were to silence Filante with three more goals in the 63rd and 73rd and 75th minutes through Ernest Boateng.

Filante launched a last minute attack but fired blank in their search for goals to reduce the wide margin.
