A tricycle rider identified as Yaw Afriyie, popularly known as Batman, has reportedly set his wife and six children on fire before taking his own life at Breman-Dunkwa in the Central Region.
Details of the tragic incident was shared on the X page of Ghana Chronicles on Sunday, November 2, 2025.

"A tricycle rider, Yaw Afriyie AKA Batman has killed his wife and six children after setting them ablaze at Breman-Dunkwa in the Central Region," the post read.
According to the post, the incident that occurred around midnight on October 31, 2025, is said to have followed a misunderstanding between the couple.
Moments after his wife entered the room, he is reported to have poured petrol on his wife, their children, and a grandchild, locked the door, and set them ablaze.
All seven victims were reportedly burnt to death.
"At around 12 AM on October 31, 2025, the tricycle rider is reported to have asked his wife to check up on their children, who were asleep.
"After she entered the room, he is alleged to have poured petrol on his wife and the children, including his grandchild, locked the door and lit them up in flames," the post said.
The tricycle rider, after committing the horrific act, reportedly also took his own life by hanging.

"Afriyie reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself after the act," the post added.
The Ghana Poloice Service is yet to officially comment on the matter.
