The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, along with other top officials of the National Democratic Congress, have arrived in Akwatia to campaign for the party's parliamentary candidate, Bernard Bediako Baidoo, ahead of the by-election scheduled for September 2, 2025.
A viral video on X captured the moment Julius Debrah and other NDC officials were treated to a rousing welcome by residents.

The by-election, set for September 2, 2025, follows the demise of the sitting NPP Member of Parliament, Ernest Yaw Kumi, who passed away on July 7, 2025.
The forthcoming election is gradually heating up, with both the NDC and NPP gearing up for a fierce contest.

Meanwhile the police has announced that it will deploy 5,000 personnel for the event.
