Tema Police Command holds Identification Parade

Tema, Oct. 29, GNA - The Tema Regional Police Command would on Monday, October 31, hold an Identification Parade of 78 people, suspected to have taken part in various criminal activities within the Municipality.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Lydia Quarshie, Deputy Regional Commander told newsmen in Tema on Friday that the suspects were rounded up in anti-robbery and anti-narcotics swoops. She said some of the suspected armed robbers and drug dealers, mostly Fulanis, resisted arrest, "but with a great deal of professionalism and tact, the police overpowered them".

ACP Quarshie said the police retrieved a large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and substances suspected to be cocaine, in addition to 15 million cedis cash.

She urged members of the public who had recently fallen victims to the nefarious activities of the suspects to turn up at the Regional Police Headquarters to help identify them.
