'They died without being corrupt'- Bernard Mornah mourns Omane Boamah, Murtala

The former National Chairman of the People's National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah has described the tragic passing of the Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah and the Minister of Environment, Science and Technology and Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed as a heartbreaking loss of two incorruptible patriots who lived and died in service to the country.

Speaking to the media after a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Jubilee House on Thursday, August 7, 2025, he stated that two deceased ministers were his long-time friends.

"These two gentlemen, virtually of my age, I can say they died without being corrupt. They never took anything from anyone for personal gain but served for the good of humanity," he noted.

"In the CJA that I was a founding member who later drafted Omane Boamah and Murtala Mohammed also to join. We worked together in the Committee for Joint Action. I think Mahama has lost trustworthy compatriots," he added.
