'There's no justifiable reason to scrap Single Spine'

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission has stated that the government has no intentions of scrapping the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS).

The Independent Newspaper reported that the government is considering the move in a bid to reduce the burden of wage bill on the public purse.

The pay policy was introduced to ensure all public service workers are paid fair and equal wages.

But the Public Affairs Directorate of the Commission, Earl Ankrah in an interview with XYZ News said there is no justified reason why the government will scrap the pay policy.

“From where we sit, the single spine pay policy is the best pay that ever happened to this country.

“This is the best to happen to this country and until they have any counter view or any justifiable reason why it should be scrapped…I don’t believe it is a sound argument,” Earl Ankrah said.
