Teenager arrested for kidnapping his JHS 3 girlfriend

The eastern regional police command have apprehended a 19 year old JHS two student for alleged kidnapping of a 20 year old JHS three student at Akyem Manso.

The victim, Georgina Ama Amenyo, 20 was said to have Sneaked out of their home at Anamase near Achiase on January, 12 but failed to return.

Regional police PRO DSP Ebenezer Tetteh says, Esther Brady, the victim's mother managed to trace her boyfriend at Akim Manso who admitted to having accommodated her for a day, but claimed to have seen her off the following day.

DSP Tetteh explains that, her mother, after unsuccessful attempts to locate her
informed the police and Joseph was arrested on 28/1/19.

The suspect after his arrest denied knowledge of her whereabout, insisting that he saw her off the following day.

The police conducted a search in the suspect room and found a brassier, cover cloth and a pair of shoes belonging to Georgina.

The suspect has since been remanded into police custody by Akim Swedru circuit court pending further investigations.

He will reappear in court February, 11.
