Teacher abuses 13-year-old girl

A teacher at Dimona Divine Junior High School at Santa Maria in the Greater Region, Pious Ocloo has been accused of abusing a 13-year old girl of the school, Weekend Today can report.

Pius Ocloo who teaches Information Technology and Communication (ICT), Weekend Today gathered took advantage of the meekness of the little girl when she was only 11-years-old, and started sleeping with her until recently when the girl completed her Basic Education Certificate Examination(BECE).

Narrating her daughter’s ordeal to Weekend Today, last Sunday, June 25, 2017 in the presence of the girl, the visibly shaken mother of three said that, the teacher lured her daughter into the act when she was in JSH One.

According to her, it started one day when the teacher asked her child to accompany him to a friend’s house at Flatop near Abeka Lapaz in Accra.

Unknown to her daughter, she said, the teacher had arranged with his friend to leave the room immediately they arrived, so he could carry on with his evil deeds.

She said after the act, the teacher warned her daughter not to reveal it to anyone or else, she and her mother would die.

And for fear of her life, Madam Benneh said, her daughter kept it to herself until she finished her exams.

“Since then it became a regular affair where every weekend, the teacher would invite my daughter to the friend’s house and abused her”, she told this reporter amid sobs.

According to her, not only did teacher Pius Ocloo enjoy free sex with her daughter, but he also collected her money meant for her feeding fee.

She continued that, when she went to the school to demand justice for her child after she had revealed the whole secret to her (mother), she was told by the school authorities that after their investigations they decided to dismiss the teacher from the school and so she could take the matter to wherever she wanted.

“I don’t know anyone I can turn to, what I want is to find out whether my daughter has contracted any sexually transmitted disease or pregnant, that is all I’m asking for”, she said.

When Weekend Today contacted teacher Pius Ocloo, he admitted having committed the act, but pleaded for clemency as he promised to foot the laboratory fee for any medical test the girl will undergo.

When he was reminded that it was a criminal act and therefore be treated as such, he went on his knees and pleaded for the matter to be resolved by the two families.

When Weekend Today went to Dimond Divine JHS yesterday, June 29, 2017 to ascertain the truth, the headmaster also admitted that, the teacher committed the act, but refused to give details.
