The Mayor of Kumasi, Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, popularly known as King Zuba, has announced that any stray cattle found in the jurisdiction of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly will be arrested, slaughtered and their meat sent to the Kumasi Central Prisons to feed inmates.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, he stated that the directive forms part of broader measures to restore order and cleanliness in Kumasi.
"If you're a cattle owner and your cattle strays to the vicinity of KMA, they can go to any assembly. That's not my headache. If they are coming into the domain of KMA, be rest assured that from May 1, those cattle will be killed and be given to the Kumasi Central prisons for feeding.
"And I'm serious about this, especially the areas from the airport leading up to Manhyia. I cannot sit here and let visitors get to this beautiful airport and when they're driving to Manhyia, all that they encounter is cow dung. This in unacceptable. I will make sure that once we catch them, they are sent to the central prisons. So, please help me to get our city to be disciplined", he stated.
