The former Deputy Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Dr Stephen Amoah, has raised concerns about the timeline set for aspirants of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming flagbearer contest.

Speaking on JoyNews’s PM Express show on Tuesday, June 24, Dr Amoah indicated that while he has not been fully briefed on the party’s latest directive regarding campaign activities, he believes the six-month period provided for aspirants to tour the country is insufficient.

He stressed the importance of ensuring fairness in the party’s internal processes.

“I haven’t had the opportunity to follow the details of what is being said, but my only concern is the time. To tour all 16 regions and reach out to delegates across constituencies and polling stations in just six months is quite a challenge. I think it’s only fair that enough time is given,” he stated.

Dr Amoah reaffirmed his respect for the party’s leadership and its decisions but cautioned that aspirants should not be overburdened in ways that could undermine equal opportunity and internal democracy.
