Kufuor to review achievements so far ..

Accra, Jan. 30, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor would use his sessional address to Parliament on Tuesday to reinforce the Government's belief in investing in people and jobs.
He would also review the achievements so far chalked by his administration and inspire Ghanaians to have self-confidence, Mr Kwabena Agyepong, Press Secretary and Presidential Spokesperson, told a press briefing at the Castle, Osu, on Monday.
President Kufuor, he said, would rally the people to buy into his vision for moving the country forward.
Mr Agyepong noted that significant progress was made with regard to the development agenda outlined in the President's State of the Nation Address last year.
He referred to human resource development and said since education was key, the Government introduced a number of interventions including the capitation grant, the school feeding Programme that had started on pilot basis, upgrading of at least one Senior Secondary School (SSS) in every district into a model school, incentive packages for teachers in deprived communities and car loan for teachers.
Mr Agyepong said the country had witnessed tremendous infrastructure development. The President's Sessional Address to Parliament is a constitutional obligation.
