The Spokesperson of the board of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), Francis Doku, says the indefinite ban imposed on Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy does not stop them from buying tickets to watch like fans.

He said no one will prevent them if they do so.

Mr Doku, who is also Head of Media General Digital, stressed that the ban is as it was spelt out by Amandzeba Nat Brew at the Swiss Alisa Hotel in Accra on Thursday, May 23.

The VGMA board, on that day, declared the two artistes as ineligible for nomination, selection and performing at future VGMAs.

They were also stripped of all awards won at the 20th VGMA and were ordered to submit the plaques “effective immediately”.

Speaking on TV3/3FM’s The Key Points on Saturday, May 25, Mr Doku clarified that since the ban is indefinite, many things could change between now and the next VGMAs.

Chief Executive Officer of Charterhouse Productions Theresa Ayoade has already hinted that the organisers do not hate any artiste but want the best for them in organising the awards scheme.

Head of Productions at Charterhouse Nii Ayittey Hammond, who was also on The Key Points, said the turnout of events will go a long way to change security arrangements at social events across the country.

Meanwhile, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are standing trial for last weekend’s commotion, which saw the latter pull a gun on-stage.

They have been granted bail in the tune of GH¢100,000 in total and will reappear on Thursday, June 20.
