Kpando Heart of Lions managed to beat Khalid FC 3-2 in their sixth week Division One League match played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday.

The Kpando boys scored the first two goals in the first quarter of the match. In the first, Lawson N'bueke was brought down in the 13th minute and Isaac Oduro converted beautifully. In the 15th minute Sam Yeboah raced into the defence of Khalid and delivered a deep cross into the defence for Benjamin Dziwornu to head into the net for the second goal.

Joe Debrah of Khalid reduced the tally in the 26th minute by connecting a cross from Abdul Fatau. Debrah's long range shot in the 40th minute fetched the equaliser for Khalid.

Heart of Lions came back strongly in the second half and snatched the match winner in the 55th minute through N'bueke who pounced on the ball in front of the Khalid defence, beat keeper Mustapha Anagba before placing it in an empty net.

Khalid tried on some occasions to level up, while Lions also missed some few chances to increase the tally but both sides failed to make any impact till the end of 90 minutes.

Dwarfs beat Bafana Bafana

Mankessim (Central Region) - Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs maintained their grip on top of the division 2B league table when they whipped Takoradi Bafana Bafana 3-1 in their league match played at the Mankessim Secondary/Technical school sports grounds on Wednesday.

Dwarfs, playing one of their best games, made victory certain before half time when they scored all the three goals. Outside left, Frank Mensah opened the scoring with a free kick in the 10th minute while outside right, Mathew Atiogbe, and inside left,

Maxwell Kyei scored in the 15th and 30th minutes respectively.

On resumption Bafana Bafana, however took control of the game and pulled a goal back through a spot kick taken by outside right, Kingsley Kwarteng to bring the full time scores to 3-1.
