School building projects may delay – Mahama

President John Mahama has admitted his government may not be able to complete the construction of some 200 Senior High Schools it promised the Ghanaian people.

In an interview with Western Region-based State broadcaster, Twin City Radio, Mahama said budgetary constraints may delay the construction of the schools, one of which was recently commissioned.

Mahama is expected to commission another one today as he tours the region ahead of his Party’s planned presidential primaries on November 7.

With calls growing for Mahama and his government to fulfill the pledge made, there are also doubts it will be achieved. Critics, especially the opposition has flayed the government insisting the promise was pure propaganda, adding 23 of the schools are even being funded by the World Bank.
