Round off in Common Hall SRC elections

Accra, April 22, GNA - The Students Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Ghana's elections would go the second round. This was contained in Press Release issued from Legon on Saturday and signed by Mr Richard Osei Prempe, Electoral Commissioner for Commonwealth Hall.

The release dismissed an earlier statement by one of the members of the commission that, Mr Lord Koranteng Hammer had been disqualified as a candidate.

It stated that Mr Hammer and Mr Samuel Awuku are going for a round off.

The statement cautioned that until the due process was followed, the unilateral regulations of Akuafo Electoral Commission would not be regarded and would not on any note conduct the said elections in Commonwealth Hall.

According to the statement, "For the avoidance of doubt due process as stated supra implies that the candidates, who have successfully gone through the first round, proceed to the round off, as dictated by the SRC constitution".
