Songs must focus on how to achieve peace

Sunyani Aug. 16, GNA- The Right Reverend Kwame Omane- Achamfour, Methodist Bishop of Sunyani, on Sunday advised Singing bands to focus on songs that would help people get away from bad behaviours.

The Bishop was preaching at the closing session of the 19th Biennial Delegates Conference of the National Union of Methodist Singing bands in Sunyani.

"Christianity is a major tool for promoting and maintaining peace and harmony in the country", Rt. Rev Omane-Achamfour said and called on Singing bands to compose songs that would touch the hearts of non-Christians and convert them.

The Bishop noted that the peace in the country could be sustained when the people followed the life of Christ.

An appeal for funds for the construction of three semi-detached mission houses for the Church in the Tamale Municipality yielded 7.8 million cedis.
