The flagbearer of the People's National Party (PNP) for the 2024 presidential election, Janet Nabla, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to immediately dismiss the Minister in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, for peddling falsehoods.

Her comment comes after Felix Kwakye Ofosu claimed that the Member of Parliament for Assin South, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, had been invited by security agencies after he alleged that two foreign flights that arrived in Ghana in March 2025 carried suspicious content suspected to be cocaine and were also involved in money laundering.

However, the MP, who is also the Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament, vehemently denied ever being invited by any institution.

In a post on X, he challenged the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, to produce proof of such an invitation.

"Kwakye Ofosu lied when he claimed I've been invited by security agencies and failed to attend upon their invitation. No security or intelligence agency has ever invited me to assist them with any information. I dare Kwakye Ofosu to produce a copy of such an invitation," he stated.

Commenting on the issue in a panel discussion on Adom FM, Janet Nabla accused the minister of having a penchant for telling lies.

According to her, as the mouthpiece of the Mahama administration, the minister, having a lying tongue, must not be allowed to continue working in such a sensitive office that should be feeding Ghanaians with only the truth as a way of being accountable to the citizenry.

"If I were President Mahama, I would have sacked Felix Kwakye Ofosu immediately because of the things he says that are not true. He told the whole world that the security agency had invited the Member of Parliament for Assin South, Ntim Fordjour, over his claim about some foreign flights which were suspected to have carried cocaine. This is contrary to claims by the MP that nobody has invited him.

"Felix Kwakye Ofosu is not communicating for President Mahama; he is communicating for all Ghanaians. With this kind of attitude, it will push the NDC into a place that it does not want, and all of us will suffer. We don't need people who don't tell the truth to be communicators. The president, with immediate effect, must dismiss him," Nabla stated.
