Nkansah is second in Belgium

GHENT, Belgium - Marcus Brunson of the United States won the 60 meters at the Flanders Indoor meet Sunday, finishing in 6.59 seconds.

Eric Nkansah of Ghana was second in 6.67 in the four-man race. Kareem Streete-Thompson of the Cayman Islands and Simone Collio of Italy were disqualified.

Mayte Martinez of Spain won the women's 800, overtaking Jolanda Ceplak of Slovenia in the last few meters to win in 1 minute, 59.52 seconds.

"I'm not so happy about the race, in the end I lost power," Ceplak said. "I think its because I had three races in 10 days, still its almost a month before the world championship and there I will be OK."

Ceplak, Martinez and Olympic 800 champion Maria Mutola are expected to battle for the top spot at the world indoor championships next month in Budapest.

In the women's 60, Manuela Levorato of Italy won in 7.21, just ahead of Natallia Safronikova of Russia (7.24) and 43-year-old Merlene Ottey (7.24).
