The Rebecca Foundation has presented 180 women from across the country with startup kits to enhance their business.

The presentation took place at Cape Coast in the Central Region on Tuesday, 10 March 2020, as part of activities marking International Women’s Day.

It was also in support of the Rebecca Foundation’s Terema Initiative which seeks to empower women economically by providing them with training and equipment.

Startup tools such as deep freezers, fridges, kitchen stoves and sewing machines, among others, were presented to 130 beneficiaries made up of traders, artisans and fishmongers drawn from the Central, Greater Accra, Western North and Western Regions.

Fifty women who were trained in soap-making with assistance from the National Board for Small-Scale Industries (NBSSI) at Assin Fosu in the Central Region were also presented with startup kits to begin their soap-making business.
