Rawlings, Kufuor roar against claims of grabbing state lands

After barely a day since the minister of lands, Peter Amewu added the names of former presidents Jerry Rawlings and Kufuor to a full list of government officials engaged in the looting of state lands, the office of former president Kufuor has come out to strictly refute the claims.

Speaking of this development, the office of the former president John Kufuor - Frank Agyepong revealed that the state land distributed to John Kufuor was in fulfillment of his ex-gratia.

According to him; "the ex-president never under the John Atta Mills-John Mahama tenure purchase any plot of land in Accra, Agyekum emphasized. Mr. Kobina Andoh Amoakwa who speaks for ex-president John Rawlings rubbished the report claiming it is an old recycled story."

From the front of the office of the former president, Jerry Rawlings, spokesperson for Mr. Rawlings, Kobina Andoh Amoakwa refuted the report describing it is an old recycled story.

According to a report carried out by Joy News, “over 416 individuals, mostly previous government officials, as well as public institutions were allocated state lands between 2009 and 2016”.
